Objectives of the Study Program Banking and Business Finance:

The study program is designed in such a way that during the studies the student achieves the qualification objectives, including the skills and competencies in the field of banks and financing. The objectives of the Banking and Finance Study Program take into consideration specific and general competencies, which are structured based on the field such as:

Specific objective:

  • Understanding the role of the banking system and different types of banks,
  • Understanding financial markets and financial institutions.
  • Understanding the role of business and individual and transversal investors.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and adherence to professional responsibilities and business practices in the field of banking and finance.
  • Understanding of banking and financial principles and theories related to professional judgment to generate conclusions in a variety of relevant contexts.
  • Understanding the scientific and methodological knowledge necessary for the financial analysis of banks and the assessment and management of banking risk.
  • Understanding of financial theories within the primary areas of finance.

General Objectives:

  • Comprehension of stress management.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be able to write reports, present, discuss and defend financial decisions using appropriate terminology.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently or as part of a team to resolve issues arising in specific professional contexts in banking and finance.

Learning Outcomes of the Study Program Banking and Business Finance:

The structure of the Banking and Finance program provides a logical flow, completes the definition and correctly defines the general and specific competencies according to the curricula and programs submitted to EHEA.
The expected learning outcomes from this study program consist in the fact that students will be able to:

  • Understand and implement the essential financial activities of organizations and banks;
  • Use and comment on financial data;
  • Analyze financial statements, use financial indicators and prepare financial reports;
  • Understand and implement the professional operations (activities) required in the modern banking industry, insurance companies, investment funds, public finance in the central and local government;
  • Apply international accounting standards;
  • Prepare and interpret financial statements based on these standards;
  • Analyze how markets work, how real and financial resources are allocated, and how they can fail to function properly;
  • Identify and critically evaluate ethical issues in businesses and the business and legal environment, in order to understand and judge the consequences in the development of businesses, the community and the country in general.
  • Develop general critical, analytical, functional, comparative and problem-solving skills that can be applied in business and economic management situations.
